YOUR ROLE: 

As our HR Generalist in Los Angeles, you’ll report to the People Operations Manager and work with the global People Ops team to create an exceptional workplace experience. We’re looking for someone ambitious, professional, and passionate about building a strong, engaging workplace community who also demonstrates excellent organizational and communication skills.

In this role, you’ll act as the onsite HR representative, partnering with your regional manager to develop and implement HR programs that support our fast growth. You’ll be a trusted advisor for managers, offering guidance, administrative support, and mentorship.

You’ll manage the day-to-day organization of the LA office, lead employee engagement initiatives, and support onboarding and key projects. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator, resourceful, collaborative, and dedicated to fostering an inspiring workplace culture.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

HR Support, Partnership & Workplace Coordination:

  • Manage the process and administration of employee benefits and the payroll process for the region, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, addressing any issues as they arise.

  • Serves as a point of contact for HR-related information and updates, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure clear, timely, and precise messaging to employees and the regional team regarding benefits, policies, and other relevant matters.

  • In collaboration with departmental managers, oversee new employee onboarding and training to ensure smooth integration into the organization.

  • Act as a trusted business partner, leveraging data-driven insights and metrics to provide expert advice, coaching, and recommendations to stakeholders on all aspects of HR

  • Oversee Paid Time Off (PTO) management and ensure relevant policies are communicated effectively to employees.

  • Handle compliance and immigration matters, including work permits, contract terminations, and investigations, while implementing proactive measures to reduce risks.

  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers, including software licenses and office suppliers.

  • Manage budgets related to People Operations for the region.

  • Collaborate with the People Operations team on organizational development projects and company-wide HR initiatives.

  • Provide thoughtful solutions to complex business challenges, translating business needs into actionable HR plans.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the HRIS system, including training documentation, employee records, and asset tracking.

  • Assist in updating and maintaining the employee handbook, policies, and documentation.

  • Troubleshoot administrative software related to payroll and employee records, resolving issues promptly to ensure smooth operations.

  • Collaborate with the office coordinator to track and maintain hardware and company assets inventory as well as maintaining organized, clean working spaces.

  • Arrange work-related travel for employees and executives as needed.

Employee Engagement & Events:

  • Act as a culture champion by embodying company values and contributing to initiatives that foster autonomy, collaboration, and employee growth.

  • Help organize and coordinate the annual company-wide offsite, bringing new ideas to enhance the event’s success and employee satisfaction.

  • Plan and coordinate employee activities and celebrations, including public holiday events, birthdays, and work anniversaries.

  • Support employee development by helping identify skills gaps and training needs within the organization, booking training sessions and tracking training budgets.

**Performs all other related duties as assigned, to support the organization’s objectives.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (SHRM certification is a plus).

  • 6+ years of experience as an HR generalist, preferably within a technology-focused organization.

  • Strong knowledge of California employment laws, payroll processes, and benefits administration.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) and/or Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders.

  • High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to gather and interpret data to support decision-making.

  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Willingness to work in-office 4 days per week and travel internationally 1–2 times per year.
